A Huge Heart

At Yum!, we want to taste success, but we also want to share it. We are committed to making the world a better place to live and work. One of the ways we are making a difference is by launching a World Hunger Campaign to give hope to the 850 million people throughout the world who are literally starving. This campaign focuses on increasing awareness of hunger relief needs with global public relations, as well as encouraging volunteer and fundraising efforts. The entire Yum! system (international, corporate and franchisees) is committed to raising $1,000 per store. With 35,000 stores, that’s a goal of $35 million – enough money to feed 551,000 kids for an entire year.

In addition to our World Hunger Campaign, we support the following charities and programs across the globe both financially and through associate volunteerism:

• Dare to Care Food Bank: Since 2002, we’ve committed $1 million annually to end hunger in the Kentucky/Indiana area.
• YUMeals: Yum! Brands donates over seven million pounds of wholesome food to needy families and children each year, totaling over 200 million prepared meals to date – YUMeals is the largest prepared-food donation program in the world.
• Taco Bell’s Teen Supreme Program: Through its partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the Taco Bell Foundation supports teen-focused initiatives that are designed to build self-esteem, leadership skills and values.
• KFC Colonel’s Scholars: KFC Colonel’s Scholars enables high school students with entrepreneurial drive, strong perseverance and demonstrated financial need to pursue up to four years of study at an accredited college within their state of residence.
• Pizza Hut BOOK IT!® Program: Pizza Hut has invested nearly a half billion dollars in the BOOK IT! program and awarded more than 183 million Personal Pan Pizzas to students who have met their monthly BOOK IT! reading goals – the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program has become the largest reading motivation program in America.
• International Charitable Contributions and Disaster Relief: Yum! is committed to giving back to the communities we serve and to making a difference by financially supporting hundreds of charities across the globe.
